13 "masked" members were in attendance for Spring Volunteer Day. We planted Helleborus Gold Collection Shooting Star and helped trim back plants that were damaged from the unprecedented winter weather. Dave Forehand supervised and led us on a tour which included the eating gardens and pavillions where we learned of the Arboretum's efforts in the area of food growth. Dave also explained how the Arboretum is divided into separate areas, each run by a Director who is responsible for the maintenance and planting of that specific area. Ten ladies were able to stay afterwards for lunch on the patio at The DeGolyer Cafe.
Special thanks to Dorothea Meltzer who donated the vibrant green Women's Council t-shirts! And a Thank You to Dave Forehand from the Arboretum for helping us organize and plan the Day and giving us a spectacular tour.
